Today Bubba said in the car on the way to school, "why can't we have a sleepover at Mommo's house every night?"

Day 3

She's sitting in the pool on the bar stool drinking lemonade.

They both had an awesome first (and second) day!

They were both so happy when they got out of school! Brady drew a self portrait of himself :) and when asked what Addy liked best about her summer, she drew an exact replica of our pool with grotto, beach, bar stools and all! <3

Day 2, I guess I will let her walk in herself on day 3.

Summers over, let the early mornings begin

Addy's last meal of the summer, I made her homemade Mac and cheese.

Buggy ate the same old same old of course.

We ate dessert outside and talked about all the fun things we did this summer. Both the kids favorite thing was spending time with their family.

Silly Smiths

So Bubba went inside, turned on the radio for outside and the song that was on was Mumford and Sons Lover of the Light, pretty fitting. So we had a dance party. This is Brady coming back from turning on the radio singing and dancing.

First day of 1st grade and big boy school!

Last weekend before school starts (sniff sniff)

Oh, I don't want this summer to end.  But I guess all good things must come to an end...

Here's Bubba with his awesome and amazing new teacher.  Doesn't he look happy?  The whole way there he was so excited, telling everyone about his new teacher.  Once we got there, he was ready to go home.  I know he will be great though as (thanks to Lexie!) we got the best teacher. :)

What a spread!  The girls had an ice cream social to celebrate the beginning of school.  Nothing like  a lot of sugar to get them geared up for school!

Then its time for some adult time!  We sat outside on the upstairs patio and had dinner with Savanna's parents, Brandy and Rob.  It was nice to hang out and have a margarita and talk about our kids all night, without having our kids there!

Addy's 1st grade teacher

Addy Bear!  I am so proud of you and excited for you and this year to come.  It's gonna be a great year and I know you will just shine like a star.  Your 1st grade teacher is awesome and we can already tell a lot like you.  You have grown up so much and turned into a great girl, an incredible sister, daughter and friend.  You had some mountains to climb last year but you did it and came up on top and we are so proud of you!  Keep on climbing baby!  And stop growing up so fast!

Sleepover Wednesday

School is almost here, so of course a sleepover is in order.  Murphy is here and so far we've watched Teen Beach movie, eaten pizza and swam.  And Brady was invited to a sleepover across the street since sister was having one and he's having a ball!!

It's been a great summer!  Here's the highlights:

• Addy’s experience at Pine Cove camp
• Addy’s 2^nd trip to Galveston with Ellen and Gee Gee
• The kids sleepovers at Nana and Poppy’s house and all the extra date nights
• Addy’s amazing 7^th birthday party
• 4^th annual trip to Padre, to Schliterrbaun and at the Slaton’s
• Lost Pines trip with all the cousins
• Swimming some more and great family time in our backyard

Family time

This summer marks best family time spent ever. I am so grateful to be able to work to use my talents and spend time with my wonderful kids!  Good ending to a great summer!  Got Bob on the radio, kids are smiling and hubby is happy. :)

Brady did an amazing job swimming this afternoon and Addison jumping and killer hand standst.

And icing on the great day cake, dinner at Maudie's.  Brady passed out the entire meal and Addison tried something new. And then Baskin Robbins after, of course!

Lost Pines was fun

Even with a sinus infection, you can't beat a good time at Lost Pines with cousins, moms, and grandparents.  The kids got along great and had a wonderful time!  We did the lazy river 50 times, rode scooters, danced to Teen Beach Movie soundtrack, ate from the chocolate fountain, and ice cream and smores, played with beach balls, made rainbow looms, and laughed a lot!
