A and B

I love when these two are showing sweet brother and sister love! They hold hands every time they are in the car together. So sweet.  If only it was always like this. the other 50% of the time they are wrestling and screaming at each other!

Love this time of year

Decorations are complete, now its time for hot chocolate and a real elf to supply the presents under the tree.

Ali time

It's been so long since I have gotten to blog! It's been so busy around here and the Smith Inn has been full all week.  I am still on a high from the visit from the Slatons.  It was so much fun.  The first day we got to go visit wineries all afternoon around Dripping Springs and ended the day at a great restaurant where we had pumpkin risotto, portabello mushrooms and the boys had a steak.  We had great conversations with everyone at the different wineries and seeing Ali and Sean in burnt orange was rather hilarious. Then the next day we woke up and sent Addy and Douglas off to horse camp and took the little boys to Wimberley for the day.  We walked, shopped, and had a great lunch in that sweet little town.  Ali and I found a shop where we could get jams, dips, and wines and we had a ball in there.  That evening we showed them kids night at Nutty Brown and it was so great to see our kids playing together again and to get to cook together, catch up together and just hang out together.  We miss living around the corner for them so very much!

They lost a bet.  "Dr." Slaton and the Mrs. go out in burnt orange.

I felt bad for them so I wore red to make them feel more at home.

Scott and Ali at Bell Springs doing a tasting.  In the middle of the afternoon.  On a Monday.

 Just like old times!

The view from one of the wineries, Westcave Cellars.

Shopping time!

This is on the way to one of the wineries, I love the hill country.

This cute store in Wimberley has wines from all the local wineries around here.

Look what Scotty did!

Scott has become quite the professional painter!  So proud and appreciative of all he does around here...a great father and hubby... he cleans, he paints...he is multi talented!

Addy, the Barbie doll

So these pics are from a professional photographer from a birthday party that Addy went to last weekend.  It was all Barbie!

Wed Nov 7

Today is just one of those days where there is no way to get anything done but it is still a great day.  There are currently 8 people in my house, and that is a lot.  Our family of 4, Jade, and 3 house cleaners.  But I am not complaining because I am so happy to finally have cleaners back in the picture again.  It has been 3.5 hours here at our house so far.  That is a long time to clean but I know we needed it.  Addy is home sick today.  She is literally walking circles around me as I type, we have already been to the Dr., CVS, read books together (she read them to me!!), sorted things, played a guessing game of how many things were in her box, and watched a movie.  I am waiting for Scott to come on so we can go for a run because we want to go to a local restaurant tonight for fried chicken and biscuits and have to work it off first.  We have been outside talking to two really nice neighbors outside for the last hour.  I just love that.  They told us that a new trail opened up in our hood so that is what we are going to run.  Tomorrow I think I will have some peace and quiet but I sure don't want to jinx that!

I had to throw in a picture.  See little man's new pj's...so cute!

More pics from the vineyard day

It was such a fun day...here are some more pics

I love my hubby...

When Nana and Mommo were over, we all discussed that someday we should paint the dining room another color, like one of the colors from our old house.  During the conversation, I said to Nana watch, he will have this done by Thanksgiving.  What does Scotty do the next day?  Gets a gallon of paint and starts painting!  It is the mustard yellow color from our old kitchen/living room, this photo is a color we had in our garage but thought it looked too white.  We love the new color, and can't believe we got it right on the first try. The only problem is now I think we will need to paint our living room a different color...

Family Time

Oh what a great weekend we just had!  I loved every minute of it.  Mommo was here and we started the weekend outside playing with the neighbors on bikes and scooters and wagons.  Then we headed to Hula Hut to show Mommo some true Austin.  We hadn't been there in over 13 years, since we were in college.  The kids loved sitting by the water.

Then Saturday we got to go to Shelley Cook's little boy's birthday party.  Brady had a ball going down the bounce house slide and playing with light sabers made out of pool noodles.

Then we took Mommo to HEB and came home to cook ribs and watch UT play Tech.  Addison got to go to an amazing birthday party that was so glamorous, posing as a Barbie doll in a box and having a fashion show.

After UT beat Tech (whoo hoo!), then we all got popcorn and watched Tinkerbell.  Family movie night was awesome in the media room.  Brady wasn't very into fairies so he kept saying "I love you ____" a hundred times over.  After watching fairies fly, Addy and I tried to do so ourselves:

Today we felt great because 1.  we got an extra hour of sleep (thanks Mommo for watching B for us) and 2.  we found a great church today!  It was such an awesome message (and very much needed) and we all loved it for different reasons.  Then we went to feed the ducks and the kids ended up playing a lot of chase.
We also worked with Bubba on going potty and not wearing a diaper all the time.  He likes to pee off the deck...
He was a little grumpy after waking up from his nap, but he did love all the women in his life being in his house in one day.  You just can't get enough family time!!  XOXO

Halloween 2012

Wow, it was our first Halloween on Empire Court and it sure was fun!  For those of you who know me well, you know Halloween is not my favorite holiday of the year, but I have to say this was the best Halloween yet.  It was just so amazing to see so many kids trick-or-treating in our new neighborhood and the fact that this was Bradyn's first year to actually trick-or-treat himself was so great.  We started out at our street's block party and then went as much as we could until Brady got scared because it was so dark out and he couldn't see a thing and Addy had to pee so bad and her feet hurt.  A good sign that our kids had a great time! We loved every minute of it!
