High and low for today

 

 

Today is Thursday August 30th and I wanted to share my high and low for today.  We've been doing that at the dinner table lately as a family, so it's in my brain.  Brady got to meet his teacher today at his new preschool and it was so great.  Her name is Leealice, quite a different name, and very funny to hear Brady say it.  She was so sweet and there are 6 kids in the class, 4 boys and 2 girls, and they are all very close in age, only 1 or 2 months apart from each other.  We met Emma, Aedan, and Grady so it will be hard for the sweet teacher to know what to call Brady because-Grady/Brady and Aedan/Bradyn but I guess you do a lot of rhyming anyways when you are teaching a class of 2 year olds!

 

On a sad note, I found out today one of my very good friends growing up passed away.  Jill Cornitius was a friend in middle school and high school and we spent many many days together and ate many meals at El Fenix together and I have thought of her many many times (and tried to find her and never could) and found out today she passed.  It makes my heart ache, but at least now she will be with her dear mother in heaven.  I love you Jill!

We've had Back to School night and a Saturday afternoon picnic. We have met a lot of new friends in Addy's class and we are now ready for school to start!!

Look who got glasses!!

Addy found out today she can't see close up so she's got to wear glasses for reading. She was such a trooper! She had to have her eyes dilated afterwards and just wanted to make sure she didn't miss her afternoon camp. Brady of course wanted to try on glasses also, and mess with the chair that could be powered up and down. Fun times!

Is it time for school to start yet?

Establishing our norm

This week we are starting to get in more of a daily routine and not still being on a summer vacation every day.  Kids are going to bed at 7:30 again (ahh) and everyone is now sleeping in their own beds again.  Addy has been at a YMCA camp all week and she is loving her field trips to Aquarena Springs, Austin Park and Pizza, the movie theatre, and the jumpoline park.  Brady has been doing great with mom all day, he is so great when he's one on one and doesn't have a big sister pulling on him, and taking things away from him.  I've been doing pilates and yoga classes this week and man do I love how they make me feel.  So nice to have that time to relax (and work at the same time).   Scott has started at Texas State this week and we are so proud of him for all he does as a professor and with his virtual reality lab.  It is going to be amazing!  He's such an amazing father and husband and professor, a man of many hats. 

We are getting more use to our life here in Austin/Dripping Springs and we thank God everyday for putting us here.  We love our neighbors, our friends and our family very much.

Lost Pines Aug 2012

We had a brief visit to Lost Pines but we had fun while we were there! Love seeing our cousins and Mommo and Poppo.

Kinder Kamp

Here's a snapshot of Addy this week as she completed Kinder Kamp! She is ready for school!

I'm bad and I'm on a bike!

Today marks a day in history!!  Addison learned how to ride a bike!!!  Whoo hoo!

Addy's 6th Birthday

Addy had THREE different birthday parties this year, one at our house with Nana/Poppy, Kevin/Adri, GiGi and Ellen and the neighborhood kiddos, one with Mommo and Poppo and one at the beach with Douglas and Hudson.  She ate cake SIX different times at her three parties and in Padre we even ate cake for breakfast!!  It was a fabulous 6th birthday.  She got tons of Barbies, a Scooter and a Karaoke machine.

Dakota's mom

This is the mom to the dog we hope to be getting soon.  Her name is Grace and Addy has decided we would be naming our new pup Dakota.  She is a Golden Retriever.  Hopefully this will help relieve Addy's fears of dogs once we have one of our own.

Wimberley market days

We got a lot of great stuff today at Wimberley market days!! Longhorns for the media room, a star for our mantle, a priceless UT dress, some Moonshine sweet tea, and a tractor and horse for the kids to name a few.
